Wikidata is a free and open knowledge base that can be read and edited by both humans and machines.Wikidata is used for data science. It is a large public database of relations in Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, Wikisource and others. Along with the workshop, we’re planning to inaugurate LinuxChix VAST, a local community of the international LinuxChix community.

FOSSers of Vidya participate in Major League Hacking event at Adi Shankara and win prizes They are really passionate about Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)! As many as thirteen members of the FOSSers’ Club of Vidya participated in the Local Hack Day events organised by the ASIET Hack Club at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology (ASIET), Kaladi, on 4 December 2018. The event was part of the 200+ Local Hack Day events worldwide and was sponsored by GitHub, Microsoft, Twilio and Kerala Startup Mission.

FOSSers Club organises one-day workshop on “Let’s Learn Linux-V2” FOSSers,in association with IEDC,conducted a one-day fully hands on session titled “Lets Learn Linux – V2 ” on 2 October 2018 at ME CAD Lab. As many as 35 students of S1 and S3 B Tech batches participated in the event. The activities relating to installation and basic command line operations were handled by Mr Shali K R (Server Administrator). Mr Subin (S3 B Tech CSE) gave an introductions to FOSS and free software alternatives.
